Why does the Institute for Engineering Career Development (IECD) exist?
In speaking with engineers all over the world, we have discovered the following 5 things to be true:
1. Engineers have no time to develop their careers due to heavy project workloads.
2. Engineering school curriculum typically includes plenty of technical skill development, but unfortunately very little soft skill development (i.e. communication, public speaking, networking, leadership, etc.).
3. Many engineers are unsure of the steps to take to make the leap from engineer to manager and even more engineers aren’t sure if they want to.
4. Everyone deserves an engineering career expert in his or her corner.
5. Your engineering career is too important to be left to chance.
How does the IECD work?
The IECD works like a gym membership. You join for a low monthly fee. These fees enable the members to share the cost of accessing expert care, making engineering career development training coaching affordable to all those who participate. As a basic member you will receive:
Access to one live monthly webinar or teleseminar where an engineering career expert will provide advice related to soft skill and/or engineering career development. All calls and webinars are recorded and links to the files are sent to our members in case they cannot attend the live events. You can even email questions in to us to be answered during the live event if you cannot be on the live call.
Access to one live monthly group career coaching call where you can ask questions of an engineering career expert and gain insights from other like-minded engineers looking to advance their careers. Access to a private social network – think Facebook specifically for your engineering career – that provides the ability to share experiences and ask questions of experts and other like-minded engineers. Take a tour of the private network.
